Regarding Kimono:
Due to the cold winters in Tohoku, we recommend wearing long-sleeved undershirts, heattech, sweaters, or turtlenecks. For the most frigid months, you may want to plan for temperatures from late November to late March.
Regarding Footwear:
“The thong of a geta, called a ‘hanao’, can cause discomfort if you walk long distances. Matsushima is an area with numerous stairs and stone-paved paths, so it is advisable to wear sandals, sneakers, or other footwear that provides adequate support. Boots are also a suitable option during winter.
Regarding Optional Items:
The following items are also available for purchase, but please note that stock may be limited.

Terms and Conditions
- Items must be returned by 5:00 PM on the rental day. Please note that return times may vary depending on the event. For returns by the following morning, an additional fee of ¥2,000 per person (tax included) will be charged.
- A damage fee of ¥22,000 (tax included) will be charged for any stains, damages, or losses to the rental items. For irreparable damage such as stains that cannot be removed, cigarette burns, tears outside of seams, or holes, you will be required to purchase the replacement item.
- Food and drinks are allowed. Please use a towel or cloth to protect the rental items from your chest to your knees when eating or drinking. (Disposable aprons are also available.)
- We are not responsible for any injuries, accidents, loss, or theft of personal belongings during the rental period. Valuables such as cameras, clothing, shoes, keys, wallets, computers, tablets, and watches are not accepted for safekeeping. Lost items will be returned to you at your own expense.
- For overnight rentals, a valid government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, or My Number card) is required. An additional 50% of the standard rental fee will be charged.
◆Being late for a reservation
If you are late for your reservation, we may need to seat other guests in your place.
◆The kimono dressing process typically takes around 1 to 2 hours.Please make your reservation well ahead of your desired date and time.
◆Cancellation of a reservation
Please note that we require that you cancel your reservation by phone.
Q.Can I just come to the store and take photos without a reservation?
A.Reservations are required at least one day in advance by 5:00 PM.
Q.How far in advance can I make a reservation?
A.You can make a reservation up to six months in advance.
Q.Can I make a temporary reservation?
A.We do not accept temporary reservations.
Q.Can I make a reservation on the same day?
A.Please contact Yanagiya directly at 090-4555-6104 to inquire about availability at our Sendai and Matsushima locations.
Q.Can I come to the store and take photos without a reservation?

Q.What happens if I am late for my appointment?
A.If you arrive late, we may need to accommodate other customers.
Q.Can I cancel my reservation?
A.There is a 50% cancellation fee for cancellations one day in advance and a 100% cancellation fee for same-day or no-show cancellations.
Q.Can I pay by credit card, electronic money, or PayPay?
A.Yes, you can.
Q.Can I get my hair styled even if my hair is short?
A.Yes, you can.
Q.What is the largest kimono size available?
A.Please make a reservation at least two weeks in advance if you need a size larger than 3L.
Q.Are all the kimonos on your website available in-store?
A.Please inquire as some kimonos may be undergoing maintenance.
Q.Can I reserve a specific kimono?
A.Yes, you can.
Q.Can I bring my own kimono and just rent the dressing service?
A.Yes, we offer a dressing service for ¥5,500 (tax included) if you bring your own kimono.
Q.Can I just get my hair and makeup done?
A.We do not offer hair and makeup services alone.
Q.What if I get my kimono dirty during the outing?
A.A damage fee of ¥22,000 (tax included) will be charged for stains, burns, tears, holes, or other damage that cannot be repaired.
Q.What kinds of kimonos do you have?
A.We have a variety of kimonos, including antique, glamorous, pretty, modern, and classic styles.
Q.Do you have kimonos (yukata) for children?
A.We have kimonos for children starting from 140cm. Please inquire for smaller sizes.
Q.Can I use your hair and makeup services even if I bring my child’s kimono?
A.Yes, you can.
Q.Can I reschedule my appointment if the weather forecast is bad on the day of my reservation?
A.Rescheduling may not be possible depending on our schedule. Please inquire.
Q.How far is it from Matsushima Coast Station on foot?
A.It’s about a 5-minute walk.
Q.How much does it cost to rent a furisode (formal kimono for unmarried women) or a visiting kimono?
A.A furisode rental is ¥30,000 (tax included) and a formal kimono rental is ¥25,000 (tax included), both including accessories.
Q.Do you have any fixed days off?
A.Our business hours are irregular. Please inquire in advance.
Q.How long can I rent a kimono for?
A.Kimonos must be returned by 5:00 PM on the same day. A late fee of ¥1,100 (tax included) will be charged for each additional hour.
Q.Can I eat or drink while wearing the kimono?
A.When eating or drinking, please protect your kimono with a towel or paper apron from your chest to your knees.

Thank you for choosing our photography service. Please note that we may not be able to accommodate reservations made one day prior to or on the day of your desired shooting date. You will receive an email with a link to a cloud service containing your photos within 7-12 days after your shoot. Please note that your data will be stored for 30 days. Kimono rental fees are not included in the photo shoot price.

A passionate dress designer who coordinates beauty from the heart. With a 30-year career as a fashion model and reporter, as well as experience teaching at a specialized school, she has been actively involved in various activities, including beauty coaching for matchmaking services and giving lectures at the request of local governments and corporations. She founded Splendid Blanche in 2005 and has created over 800 dresses, producing various original weddings. In 2022, she became a certified instructor of Kamiyabu Kimono Style, reviving antique Japanese kimonos. In November 2023, she launched “Konohanasakuyahime,” a 3-way original kimono brand that allows people to easily wear traditional Japanese clothing, leveraging her experience as a dress designer. She is actively working to spread kimono culture to young people and foreigners.
